Mrs. Brown with Her First Grade Class, 1959/60


I got this picture of Mrs. Brown from Dot Hightower. It shows Mrs. Brown with a first grade class in the 1959/60 school year. Most of these kids were in the 1971 senior class at Dulles High School. Notice all the children standing with her are boys. I'll bet she's lining them up for a paddling - especially Ray Babineaux.

    I just noticed the date stamp along the right edge of the photo. I can't tell the day, but it's early June, 1960. Maybe this is summer school.

    I noticed most of them are barefoot too. That's my class, even though I went to Missouri
    City for elementary, and I don't even recognize Ray Babineaux. We didn't have summer school in Stafford - we were too busy picking canteloupes and grading okra! Great picture. Keep them coming.

    Ray Babineaux is the second boy from the left (in front). He's wearing a shirt with horizontal strips.
