Sugar Land Gets Blinking Lights
I thought I'd continue with Highway 90-A. The article shown below appeared in The Fort Bend Mirror in 1961. I'm too lazy to look up the exact date, but the article I submitted to the City of Sugar Land has it. I thought it was funny they explained what the blinking lights meant. I HOPE Sugar Land drivers had seen blinking lights before and knew what they meant.
I asked my mother about the Brooks Street intersection shown in the picture. She thought there was nothing - even stop signs - before the lights were installed in 1961. I'm not sure, but I thought there was a two-way set of stop signs in the 50s. Maybe there weren't any in the 30s and 40s.
