Another picture from Dot Hightower. It shows Sugar Land school faculty members who volunteered to play in a charity basketball game. Pretty funny. Dot identified the women, but I failed to write down their names, so I've tried to figure them out using old annuals. Here goes from left to right:
Carolyn Baker, Eleanor Berry, Dot Hightower, Ida New, Joyce Ledger, Dorothy Grimes, and Clifford White.
I got this picture of Mrs. Brown from Dot Hightower. It shows Mrs. Brown with a first grade class in the 1959/60 school year. Most of these kids were in the 1971 senior class at Dulles High School. Notice all the children standing with her are boys. I'll bet she's lining them up for a paddling - especially Ray Babineaux.
Linda Hagler Mosk lent me this picture of her first grade class. You see Mrs. Brown on the right. She was a well-known tyrant at Sugar Land Elementary for many years. This photo was taken toward the end of her career. You see Mrs. McNeil (her eventual replacement) on the left. I guess Darvin Altenhoff (our principal) knew regime change was necessary.
This is my first grade class picture. You may recognize several members of Dulles High School's Class of 1968. Of course, we've changed over the years, but people are still recognizable, I think.

Scotty Hightower Bass (DHS '66) has sent me some great stuff to post. Here's the first shot - Coach Hightower's quarterback club membership cards. I think I'll post a couple of stories about Coach Hightower later in the week. Some of you may heard me tell them before, but what the heck. A good story needs retelling occasionally.
