I've been posting newspaper articles on Sugar Land High School's football seasons of 55 & 60 years ago. The Gators had stellar campaigns in both years.
The '51 team won Sugar Land's 1st Regional Championship, the 1st year Class B schools could compete for that title. (There was no state championship for Class B schools in those days. Their playoffs consisted of just 2 games, bi-district & regional championships.)
The '56 team went undefeated & untied & won Sugar Land's 4th regional championship. It's safe to say the 1950s were the golden age of Sugar Land high school football.
