I've submitted an article to The City of Sugar Land about the City's night at Colt Stadium on June 8, 1962. My family went to the game with most other baseball fans in town. (I'm in the picture of Sugar Land's Little League teams that attended in their unis.)
I won't say much about the game here - you can read it in the article when it comes out. However, I want to point out that The Fort Bend Mirror (which published these pictures) got a key piece of information wrong. The Colts played the Dodgers. Sandy Koufax pitched, and Frank Howard hit a mammoth home run.
It was one of the first MLB games I'd ever seen - maybe the first. What a hoot for a 12-year old.
