I didn't live in Sugar Land in 1986, so I missed these festivities 28 years ago.

The following image shows the program for the day's events, which included a flag dedication at the Sugar Creek National Bank Building with George H. W. Bush, then Vice President of the US, participating.
These next images show the program at which Sugar Land was honored as the first Sesquicentennial Community in the State of Texas. I don't see a date or location on the program, but I assume it was held at the Community Center, now the Ted Harman Center on Matlage Way across from the US Post Office.
