I want to thank Lou Payton (SLHS '46) for sending me a link to the video below. I've seen a PBS documentary on Henry Ford within the past year and remember the story about this car. Here is a relatively short article explaining its significance. It was a desperate move on Ford's part, but he was confident he would win and collect enough money to keep him in business.
My only quibble is I wish they'd shown a little more of the engine and controls. Still, I'm glad they gave us a look at the historic car.
