Another hot topic in the Facebook group, "You Know You're From Sugar Land If ...", is the old 7-11 which was located on Highway-90A on the west side of town (approximately where the Texaco station now sits). The photo below shows the convenience store that preceded the 7-11. Residents called it "The Ice House," or "Preston's". If you look closely on the left, you can see construction forms for the 7-11's foundation. I think it opened in 1956.
